Information for parents applying for their child to start at Thundersley Primary School
Starting school in September 2027?
For those whose children will be starting Reception in September 2027, you can book a slot for a small group tour of our school in the week of November 9th - 13th 2026. To arrange this please contact the School Office on 01268 793251.
As an academy, we use Essex County Council Planning and Admissions Service to co-ordinate the school admissions for the main round of admissions in Reception. Please contact them on 0845 603 2200 if you have a query about your child starting school in September.
Our Published Admission Number (PAN) for Reception is 60 pupils.
National offer day for starting school in Reception in September 2027 is Friday 16th April.

If your child is not offered a place at your preferred school, you can appeal against the decision following the Essex appeals process which is found on the below website:

Late appeals – Appeals submitted after the deadline will be heard in accordance with the statutory timescales and may be heard after the summer holidays.
Parents will receive at least 10 school days' notice of their appeal hearing. Details of the deadlines for submitting additional evidence and other appeal papers will be provided as part of the appeals process. Decision letters will normally be sent within five school days of the hearing.

Mid-year Admissions
Mid-year admissions (anything outside of the normal reception application round) are coordinated by the admission authority, which is ROBUS Multi Academy Trust. Please find below our admissions policy and the application you should use.
All correspondence for mid-year admissions will be through email. Applications need to be emailed to admin@thundersley.essex.sch.uk with the subject title ADMISSIONS
You should expect to receive a reply stating whether your child has been successful or not in gaining a place within 10 working days. Please note that this does not include school holidays. Admissions for September, submitted during the summer holiday will only be considered when school returns at the beginning of September.
