Everyone belongs at Thundersley
At Thundersley, inclusion is at the heart of everything we do. We want every child to feel that they belong, achieve their very best and thrive as part of our school community.
We recognise that children may need different types of support at different points in their school journey. We aim to identify needs early, remove barriers to learning and work closely with families to make sure children receive the right support.
Worried about your child?
If you have concerns about your child's learning, development, communication or wellbeing, please talk to us. Your child's class teacher is usually the best place to start.
Our Parent SEND Support Flowchart below explains the support available at Thundersley and what happens at each stage.
Useful information and documents
SEND Information Report
Our SEND Information Report explains how we identify and support children with special educational needs and disabilities at Thundersley, and how we work in partnership with families.Â
Essex Local Offer
The Essex Local Offer provides information about services and support available for children and young people with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND) and their families across Essex.
Who can I talk to?
If you have any concerns about your child's learning, development, communication or wellbeing, please speak to your child's class teacher in the first instance. They know your child well and can discuss the support already in place and any next steps.
If further advice or support is needed, your child's teacher can involve our SENDCO, Mrs Charli Harper, and our wider Inclusion Team.
We believe that the best outcomes for children come from working together with families, so please do talk to us if you have a concern or would like some advice.
SENDCO: Mrs Charli Harper
